Red Ring of Death....But It's Okay

So my launch-day pre-order Xbox360 bit the dust recently. It was almost 26 months old. Fortunately I lucked out and happened to be at the CostCo.com website during the 43 nano-seconds they had it up for pre-order back in the summer of 'aught-five, *and* I was smart enough to pull the trigger on the pre-order right then.

And also fortuantely for me Microsoft extended the manufacturer's warrenty to 3 years against RRoD failure, so I was able to go exchange it for a new box without any moral dilemma of possibly abusing the CostCo return policy. And I was able to track down a Falcon chipset replacement console, which supposedly has the design change that in it that is supposed to fix all these RRoD failures the 360 has had.

So for the mere inconvenience of going without a console for a week and a half while I searched the 4 local CostCos for a Falcon unit, I was able to refresh my console with a brand new redesigned one, refresh my 2 year worn controllers with brand new ones, and trade in Kameo for Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Forza Motorsport. Not bad at all for the inconvenience incurred. Oh, and it was a hundred bucks cheaper.

If CostCo stocks the 360 Elite within the next couple of months, I'm trading in again.
