How Many Times?
How many times can I screw down the speaker wire inside the banana plug, only to discover that I left the backshell off and I have to undo the connection and start over?
The answer, it seems, is always the same: at least one more time.
I hooked up my front and center speakers last night. (They arrived yesterday morning.) My AV Reciever doesn't fit in my TV stand to well, so I'm going to have to do some rearranging, dagnabbit. The front speakers are frickin' huge (Athena AS-F2.2s), the center channel isn't that huge (AS-C1.2), and the surrounds aren't here yet.
The speakers look good with the SXRD TV, and they sound pretty good. I was expecting to be blown away, though, and only got a "pretty good sound" feeling. I need the rear speakers and the subwoofer. The sub is supposed to arrive on Friday, and I don't think the rears have even shipped yet. Ugh.
One thing I don't like, besides the AVR crammed in the TV stand and not looking like it fits, is that the OmniMount shelf that my center speaker is sitting on looks like crap from the side, and you approach the TV from the side as you come up the stairs.
I need to work on this installation some more...
