Xbox 360 Gamer Achievements and Score
The Gamer Score and Gamer Achievements thing on the 360 seem dopey at first.
But then it hits you that you could get 1000 points for playing on rookie in NBA 2k6 and running up the score. And then all of a sudden you realize that anybody who looks at your gamer profile can see that you only have 3 of the 5 possible achievements for that game.
Crap, I gotta play another game tonight and get 50 points by one guy and 20 rebounds by one guy. And oh, by the way...I'll get another 400 gamer points when I get those.
Very ingenious. I'm tempted to rent Madden and NBA Live for 10 minutes each to get the 1000 gamer points available in those, too.
Call of Duty 2, on the other hand, has like 23 achievements. All but 2 require you to play on Veteran. Crap, that's a tough 1000 points from that game.
But now all of a sudden I want to pony up the cash...er, "MS points" to buy...er..."unlock" the full version of the backgammon game I downloaded from Arcade.
Bastards.
