BCS Sucks
I liked the bowls the way they were before the BCS garbage.
I just wish the BCS would evaporate and go away. Quit pretending that there is any other motivation to the BCS other than making sure all the big money is locked up in one spot. It's pretty transparent, and very apparent. I still find it quite amusing that so many seemingly intelligent people get so bent out of shape about it, as if those people actually believe that the goal of the BCS is anything other than "make money". 'Fairness' and 'crowning a champion' are not part of the BCS charter.
I liked the old system where every bowl was out for themselves and everyone tried to get the best matchup they could a lot better than the current system.
And New Year's Day used to be my own personal football over-indulgence holiday. Me, the couch, the TV, and the best wife is the whole friggin' world bringing me food, drinks, and snacks so that I could just stay on my arse flippin' channels and finding the best game. The BCS has ruined that, too. Stretching the bowl season out until February and then only televising one bowl game at a time on the 1st sucks. Most of the time the supposed great matchups end up being a blowout, and a really compelling game can be found in a "minor" game. Now all the minor bowls have been cleared out before the 1st and I'm stuck with a crappy game or getting up and going and doing something. And even though it's heresy to admit it, I've been finding myself burned-out on the 27 pre-1st bowl games so I don't have much tolerance for a bad bowl with no options.
Eff the BCS. They've ruined my favorite holiday of New Years Bowling. :(
