ESPN NFL 2k5
I had a little football fix last night. Only like 7 hours straight. I started out playing on Live. Do any of you (if there are any of you. I don't think there are) play ESPN on Live? I'm an okay player, which means I think I am a lot better than I really am. One thing that bigs me on Live is when you go to play a game. I'm a Charger fan, and I like to play as the Chargers. That means I need to play against crappy teams to have a chance, and since I'm only okay at the game I can still lose quite easily. What bugs me is when someone has the Chiefs in the game match thing and then switches to the Eagles when you get to the game. Yeah right.
I had a guy do that to me last night, so I switched to the Pats. He marched right down the field and scored on me, so I was thinking this would be a long game. Then I went three-and-out. Ugg. I was already thinking about just running it up the gut when I had the ball and letting the play clock go to "1" before snapping to shorten the game. (I don't like to quit.) So somehow I get an interception. It wasn't really me, just one of my guys that I wasn't controlling that happened in position to make the play on his own. But miraculously I put together a drive and score to tie it. Hey, maybe I am as good as I think I am?..... So I make him punt and put together another drive for a 14-7 lead with a minute or two left before the half. Of course he gets a drive going. I'm thinking "so much for my glory, we're going into the half tied", but somehow one of my guys gets another pick. Woo-hoo! Except...."Waiting for opponent...18...17...16..." The guy disconnects. WTF??? He was down 7 points at the half. It wasn't like I was killing him.
So I found another game and kicked somebody's ass. That was cool. I guess I wasn't a dick because he invited to his friends list. Then I found someone with the Dolphins who played as the Dolphins. Heh heh heh. Oooops..........He killed em 45-7. ouch. They don't even have a defense that shows up on the bar meter. How come I couldn't stop him???
Oh well. It was fun. After that I played about 4 games in my franchise.
